The name A̋thër La̋wër Kēä is derived from the Goblin language, as A̋thër La̋wër Kēä was founded by Ya̋nvé̄sh Cú̄ 'Xandy Ella' Ra̋nvë̋nḱ Hāstär Ca̋mbó̄ Mp̪féch Vúń, who was culturaly Goblin.

Climate

A̋thër La̋wër Kēä has a yearly average temperature of 21°C (69°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 30°C (86°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 13°C (55°F). Overview

A̋thër La̋wër Kēä was founded durring the late 15th century in winter of the year 1456, by Ya̋nvé̄sh Cú̄ 'Xandy Ella' Ra̋nvë̋nḱ Hāstär Ca̋mbó̄ Mp̪féch Vúń. The establishment of A̋thër La̋wër Kēä was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding A̋thër La̋wër Kēä's construction back out of the project. Ya̋nvé̄sh Cú̄ 'Xandy Ella' Ra̋nvë̋nḱ Hāstär Ca̋mbó̄ Mp̪féch Vúń pushed on reguardles, and A̋thër La̋wër Kēä was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.

A̋thër La̋wër Kēä was built using the conventions of Goblin durring the late 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and A̋thër La̋wër Kēä is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature masoned stone construction which prominantly features pointed arches, pointed ribbed vault cielings, flying buttress', and window tracery all of which share a simmilar gemoetetic patern halfway between organic and inorganic in design formaing a very distinct aesthetically integrated style. BUildings tend to reach for the havens, and more expencive homes are easily identified by their floor count as well as the addition of decorative features intigrated into the building's design such as statues, gargoyals, and embelished joinery.

A̋thër La̋wër Kēä is is constructed arround a series of broad cobblestone mainstreets which form overlapping circles, with smaller strait roads linking the circiles to eachother at varrious points. The town is protected by a renforced stone fence which sits atop earthwork defences, for some of the best inexpencive defences a town of A̋thër La̋wër Kēä's size could have. Unfortuantly, these well-designed, yet cheep are in extreem disrepair, so much so that one cannot tell if they are decaying from a lack of mantance or damage incured.

A̋thër La̋wër Kēä is not quite well. Something happened here, perhapse recently, perhapse long ago. Whatever it was, it settled into the very soul of the town like a festering wound. The people go about their day well enough, but there’s a tention in the air you can cut with a knife.

Civic Infrastructure

A̋thër La̋wër Kēä has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within A̋thër La̋wër Kēä.

A̋thër La̋wër Kēä has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

A̋thër La̋wër Kēä has a Department of Firefighters, which is responsible for organizing fire fighting efforts during a fire and enforcing local ordinances relating to fire safety.

A̋thër La̋wër Kēä has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

A̋thër La̋wër Kēä has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain A̋thër La̋wër Kēä's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

A̋thër La̋wër Kēä possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. These lights provide nighttime illumination to most city streets.

A̋thër La̋wër Kēä has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

A̋thër La̋wër Kēä has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

One or more crime bosses have a powerful influence within A̋thër La̋wër Kēä. They may control crime within the community itself, or they may use it simply as a safe haven from which to direct their minions elsewhere. Local law enforcement may know all about them, but lack the strength to confront them and their paid or intimidated henchmen.

A̋thër La̋wër Kēä's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by dynamic designs and complex architectural plan forms; intended to heighten feelings of motion and sensuality, and frequently based on the oval. It made extensive and extreme use of: Grandeur, Contrast, Curves and twists, Rich surface treatments, Gilded statuary, Bright colors, Vividly painted ceilings, Fragmented or deliberately incomplete elements, Large-scale frescoes, Dramatic central projections on an external facade, the use of plaster, stucco, or marble finishing, Illusory effects such as trompe l’oeil, and pear-shaped domes. While beloved by the nobility, the common folk tended to despise the style due to the massive consumption of resources required for even a small building constructed in this style.
